I dare you to do "kangaroos in the top paddock" or "lift doesn't go to the top floor" in parallel with sandwiches/picnic. Do you have those expressions or are they uniquely Australian?
Michael, I can safely say that I have never once heard those expressions in my entire life!
I've heard "elevator doesn't go to the top" in "Crazy" by Barenaked Ladies. But I love "kangaroos in the top paddock," I shall have to start using it.
